Global Strategic Purchaser Seals, Fasteners & Transmission, Alfa Laval
The central / global purchasing function within Operation is split into 5 groups. Each group works with all Alfa Laval’s production units and distribution centers. To improve the competitiveness of Alfa Laval it is critical to focus on our suppliers and products. We have own resources in Europe, China, India, US and Mexico. We are looking for a new member to our Global Purchasing organization. The commodity group Seals, Fasteners & Transmission items is responsible for securing a competitive sourcing of Alfa Laval’s needs. The area of responsibility for this position lies in the range of 30 MEUR.
About the Role
• Create & lead new business opportunities, negotiate and develop commercial agreements and long term relationships.
• Work with global suppliers, and be a professional counterpart to the suppliers.
• Strategy work on sub commodity level and continuously be updated on current market conditions.
• Represent purchasing in R&D projects.
You achieve results through close co-operation with our; Factories, Distribution Centers, R&D organization, the global and local Purchasing network and Sales organization
Placement: Tumba, Stockholm
Your Profile
You are a commercially driven engineer. You have a university degree and several years of commercial experience from Purchasing, and preferably also from Sales. Experience as project leader is an advantage. You have substantial negotiating skills and experience with how to continuously balance quality, availability and costs.
The position requires around 50 travelling days per year. English is the business language.
