Category Manager – Fuel & Energy / Basic Materials

Are you ready to shape the future of sustainable sourcing in one of Sweden’s leading construction companies? NCC Industry is looking for a Category Manager within Fuel & Energy / Basic Materials — a senior, high-impact role where strategic vision meets commercial execution.
Location: Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö/ Copenhagen Area or Oslo with travel 2–4 days/month
Employment Type: Full-time.
Purpose of the Role
As Category Manager within Fuel & Energy / Basic Materials, you will play a pivotal role in shaping NCC’s strategic sourcing landscape. This is a senior role for someone who combines a strong commercial mindset with deep category expertise and the ability to lead long-term change across an entire business area.
You are not only reducing total cost — you are building competitive, sustainable supply chains and guiding strategic supplier relationships in complex material-driven categories essential to NCC’s production footprint.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead and collaborate: Head a cross-functional category team and act as an integrated business partner across NCC’s Business Areas and functions.
- Supplier strategy & negotiations: Run structured supplier assessments, negotiate major contracts, and drive value creation beyond cost — focusing on risk, performance, and long-term business relationships.
- Drive sustainability & traceability: Ensure strategic raw material supply with a focus on sustainability, traceability, and future-proofing NCC’s resource base.
- Strategic risk assessments: Proactively assess and manage supply chain risks in volatile and raw-material-dependent markets.
- Performance steering: Own the KPIs, forecasts, and savings reporting for the category.
- Market intelligence: Monitor trends in energy, raw material pricing, and regulation — translating these into proactive category strategies.
